Our Recent Immigration Success Stories

At CPRP we are privileged to work on behalf of many wonderful people, companies and associations. We represent immigration applicants from far outside Canada from the time they step foot into the country’s airport waiting rooms all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada.

Our immigration clients often tell us after their case is concluded it would have helped to know of similar stories that are real and not just what you hear on the street. So every month we post a few stories to celebrate our immigration success stories and offer some comfort to those who will soon embark on a similar journey…

This Week’s Success Story: This Week’s Success Story: Finally A Indian Family Reunited After Twelve Years. An Achievement worth sharing.

As a Temporary Foreign National Worker “Shobha Patel” spent 11 years alone in Vancouver B.C. Canada, Working every day hard to support her family back in India. She was extremely happy when she qualified for Permanent Residence – She suffered a lot because of mistake paperwork, as per records from her home country showed that her husband was married to another woman. Polygamy is a big crime in Canada, so her husband was found criminally inadmissible. Sadly, Shobha Patel and her children were also found inadmissible too as his family members.

Shobha Patel tried everything to convince the Canadian government that her husband was not a bigamist. Somehow, she managed to convince authorities to let her stay in Vancouver, the Canada Government still considered her husband inadmissible after 10 years.

We firmly believed that Shobha Patel’s situation was unfair. With our help, Shobha Patel and her husband proved that the only sensible interpretation of the law is that they had only ever been married to each other – in any country – and to no one else! Thanks to CPRP Team efforts, Shobha Patel’s husband was finally vindicated and landed in Canada this December. We wish them every joy as they enjoy their first Canadian New Year 2020 together!

This Week’s Success Story: This Week’s Success Story: Spousal Sponsorship Appeal – Steve and Belly Genuine Marriage

This December, CPRP has successfully helped two clients appeal the refusal of their spousal sponsorship application.

Steve and Belly fell in love on social media despite differences in their religion, caste, and education. After a year both decided to get married despite intense opposition from both the family. This is sad to know that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada disbelieved such marriages that people from different backgrounds would genuinely choose to marry like this way, and claimed that if they had really wanted to live as husband and wife in Canada, they would have first gotten to know both the families and held a traditional way of wedding.

Our expert team worked very closely with both spouses to help them explain the deeply personal story of how they had started being friends online and then fallen in love with unintentionally. With our advice, finally, Steve and Belly learned how to effectively document and testify about their struggle to reconcile cultural family pressures with their feelings, their realization that Steve and Belly see themself together in future despite their backgrounds and extensive, continuing efforts to bring both the families around so that Steve and Belly could eventually hold a big traditional family wedding in the future.

In the end, Steve and Belly were able to convince the Immigration Appeal Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board that their marriage was absolutely genuine and real, and the Board announced it would set aside the refusal on every day of their hearing. We wish Steve and Belly a romantic and prosperous future together!

This Week’s Success Story: This Week’s Success Story: Long Tough Battle for Study Permit Ends with Happiness & Joy!

Our Team was retained by 32 years old Tanveer from Punjab, India, His situation was entirely different from other international students. Tanveer was married with two children. he had a significant career in his field but wanted to pursue a long-held dream of studying in Canada.

One big question was always in his mind -Why now at this stage of his life? He seemingly did not fit the mold.

After 2 heartbroken refusals the same doggedness that led to a very successful career as well as family life this applicant refused to be pigeon-holed. Tanveer simply asked to be considered based upon his individualized circumstances. Look at who and why and not how he compared to others. After a successful challenge at the Federal Court, his application was sent back to the visa office for redetermination by another officer. We updated the submissions for redetermination and finally, acceptance was at hand. We cannot describe the elation of our clients and we all felt! We wish Tanveer and his family all the best as they embark upon a new chapter in their lives.
